Mark McVey |
J. Mark McVey made his Broadway debut as Jean
Valjean, in Les Miserables, after having won
the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actor while in
Washington, DC, with the show. J. Mark was also the
first American to perform that role in London's
West End. In all Mr. McVey has completed 7 full years as
Jean Valjean with 2912 performances. Other Broadway, New
York, International and Regional leads include: The
Who's Tommy, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public,
Chess, Show Boat, Hey Love, A Helluva Town, The Show
Goes On, Carousel, My Fair Lady, South Pacific and Seven
Brides. J. Mark McVey made his Carnegie Hall debut
in 1997 with the NY Pops Orchestra. When not
performing solo concerts, with various Symphonic,
Corporate and Charitable organizations, J. Mark often
performs with Composer/Entertainer Marvin Hamlisch and
Symphony Orchestra’s across the world including Detroit,
Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, New York,
The National Symphony, Dallas, Baltimore, Pittsburgh,
Houston, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver,
Jerusalem, Brazil and numerous others. J. Mark
made his PBS debut with the Boston Pops, and followed
that performance with the PBS Christmas Special from the
Kennedy Center for the U.S. Military Troups. J.
Mark McVey also performs in concert with his wife
Christy Tarr-McVey who has been featured in three
Broadway shows and numerous Industrials. Mark's solo
CD’s, "BROADWAY AND BEYOND" and “IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME -
THE MUSIC OF MARVIN HAMLISCH”, and “ONE AMONG FEW”, are

Mark received a Gold Record for his participation in
the rock Album “The Lost Christmas Eve”. Mark and
Christy are the proud parents 2 beautiful daughters,
6 year old Grace Holly and 3 year old Kylie

Lori Sims has
performed as a
solo recitalist, with
chamber groups, and
as guest soloist
with symphonies in
major concert halls
throughout the United
States, Europe, and
China. She is
a graduate of
the Yale School
of Music where
she was named
most outstanding graduating
student. Currently,
she is the John
T Bernhard
Professor of Music
at Western Michigan
University. Since
then Sims has
won numerous prizes
and medals for
her work. Her
2000 debut at
Alice Tully Hall
(NY) earned rave
reviews from the
New York Times.

Praised
by The New Yorker as “superb,” and for “crisp
incisive technique” by The Strad,
Korean-Canadian cellist Soo Bae is a winner
of the 2005 Concert Artists Guild International
Competition. In 2006, the Canada Council of the
Arts awarded her First Prize in its Instrument Bank
Competition, resulting in a three-year loan of the
ca. 1696 Bonjour Stradivari cello, and earlier that
same year, she became the first Canadian ever
awarded a prize at the Adam International Cello
Festival & Competition in New Zealand.
For the
2006-07 season, Ms. Bae’s North American touring
schedule features recitals at the Krannert Center
for the Performing Arts (Urbana, IL), Northeastern
Illinois University’s “Jewel Box” Series, Newtown
Friends of Music (CT), and Munson-Williams-Proctor
Institute (Utica, NY), as well as other recitals in
Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Las Vegas and
Toronto. Among the orchestras she performs with are
the Christchurch Symphony in New Zealand (Elgar
Concerto) and the Wartburg Symphony in Waverly, IA
(Haydn D Major Concerto). Other upcoming projects
include the recording in Toronto of her debut CD for
the Naxos label, featuring all twelve solo cello
caprices of cellist-composer Alfredo Piatti, which
were compared by the great Yehudi Menuhin to the
Bach solo suites.
An avid chamber musician who
thrives on innovative collaborations, Ms. Bae
recently performed with jazz clarinetist Paquito
D’Rivera and violinist/composer Mark O’Connor. She
has also played with members of the Guarneri and
Juilliard string quartets, among other renowned
artists. Ms. Bae tours regularly with “Music from
Marlboro” tours throughout the US, and she has
appeared at numerous chamber music festivals
internationally, including Marlboro, Yellow Barn,
Sarasota, Orford and Verbier, Switzerland.
Born in Seoul, Korea, Soo Bae
began her cello studies at the age of six, and moved
to Toronto two years later, where she enrolled at
the Royal Conservatory of Music. She received her
Bachelor of Music from The Curtis Institute of Music
and her Master of Music degree and Artist Diploma
from The Juilliard School.
Ms. Bae currently teaches at
the Geneva Conservatory in New York City and the
Angelo Mission Ensemble in New Jersey (of which she
is founder and director), and she also teaches cello
at The Juilliard School as assistant to Joel
Krosnick.
