From the North
Take Rt. 7 south. When you get to Gallipolis, pass under Rt. 35
(large bridge that crosses into W.Va.) at the northern edge of
Gallipolis. Drive through about 3 miles of commercial stretch
then the road jogs to the right and then to the left and you are
in the old part of town in the 900 block of Second Ave. Go
straight.
The Ariel-Ann Carson Dater Performing
Arts Centre is at 426 Second Ave. and is on the right hand side.
The large marquee with a big red "A" is visible from a distance.
Parking is available on the street. For the stage entrance, go
past the theatre, turn right at the light (Court St.) and turn
right again into the alley, the theatre is at the end of the
alley. Should that alley be blocked, go to the next light and
turn right on Third Ave. and then right into a parking lot/alley
to access the stage doors.
From the West
Take Rt. 32 east. Pick up Rt. 35 (to Gallipolis) in Jackson.
Drive about a half hour and take the Gallipolis Rt. 160 exit
which will take you into town. [once you exit off the 4 lane,
you go about the distance of a block, turn left at the first
light and right at the next one and then go about 3 miles
through a residential area until you come to town. Turn right on
2nd Ave. (also State Rt. 7) then follow directions from the 2nd
paragraph above.
From the South
Take Rt. 7 north into town. Rt. 7 becomes 2nd Ave. Pass the open
square of the city park on the right and the next block is where
Ariel-Dater Hall is on the left. Visible is a large marquis for
the Colony Theatre which is a few doors before the Ariel. (for
more information, see the second paragraph above in “From the
North.”).
From Columbus
Take Rt. 23 south and pick up Rt. 35 in Chillicothe (it’s about
another hour from Chillicothe) and then follow the directions
above.
From the East
From Charleston, take I 64 to the Winfield exit no. 39 which is
Rt. 34 and go right for five miles, the road ends, go left on
Rt. 35 and drive 30 miles to the Ohio River. Follow directions
from the north above in first paragraph.
